Rose STEM Academy Staff

Cami is an enthusiastic and friendly girl who adores all things science.  In her free time, she loves to play Water Polo and spend time with her friends and family. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cami is fluent in both English and Spanish, and she loves meeting and interacting with new people. Her favorite scientist is Rosalind Franklin (props for that female representation in STEM) and is will be attending Stanford in the fall where she plans on majoring in BioEngineering. She can't wait to meet everyone and for an unforgettable camp experience!

Rande is currently a proud Cypress Bay student from Quito, Ecuador. Although, he is passionate about his education in the STEM field, he always makes time for his friends and family. Rande spends most of his free time swimming for Cypress Bay and playing the bassoon in his Orchestra. In spite of the fact that it may seem that his favorite teacher is Mr. Rose, Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus is actually his favorite teacher and scientist. Rande is also thrilled to be majoring in PHYSICS at Grinnell College this fall, and is excited to meet the camper/future scientists at camp this year!.

Sara is an ambitious and creative graduate of Cypress Bay. Throughout high school, Sara was an active leader of a club for aspiring medical professionals, helping to raise thousands of dollars for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. When she's not busy stressing about academics, Sara loves to read National Geographic magazines and spend time with her dog, Boris. Every summer, she travels to Poland to visit her grandparents. Her favorite scientist is Marie Curie. Sara will be heading to DC in the fall to study Neurobiology at Georgetown University. She is eager to meet the creative forward-thinkers who will be attending camp!

Michelle is a recent Cypress Bay High School alumni who has a great interest in the STEM fields. A big NASA enthusiast, Michelle likes to spend her free time at the local observatory when she is not too busy reading, traveling, or exploring nature. She can speak English, Chinese, and is currently learning German. Her favorite scientist is Nikola Tesla, and she plans on majoring in mechanical engineering and computer science at the University of Florida. Michelle could not be more thrilled to meet the future scientists and shapers of the world!

Joshua is a graduating senior at the great Cypress Bay. Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Joshua enjoys helping individuals with developmental disabilities and absolutely loves science. His favorite scientist is his grandfather.  Mr. Rose awarded Josh the Underclassman Award for AP Physics 2 for the 2015-16 school year, and then the Senior Award for AP Physics C this year.  Josh will be attending Florida Atlantic University as part of the prestigious Wilkes Medical Scholar Program, and wil be a medical doctor in 7 years. Joshua is excited to serve as a counselor to the next generation of influential scientists.
